Adventure is Waiting.
Nestled in the heart of the Driftless Region is the Westby Cub Scout Pack 76. Our pack brings local kids and families together for unforgettable adventures! As a growing pack, we are thrilled to welcome new Scouts in grades K–5 from across the Westby area. Proudly chartered by the Westby Area Historical Society, our program blends outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, and community service in a fun, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
"To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law"
Den meetings are the heart of the Cub Scout experience! Our Pack is divided into smaller, grade-level groups called "Dens" (Kindergarten through 5th grade) that meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Together with a dedicated adult Den Leader, Scouts work on age-appropriate adventures—ranging from outdoor skills and nature exploration to STEM projects, games, and community service. Every meeting is designed to help your child build confidence, make great friends, and learn by doing.
Cub Scouting is a true family adventure! Unlike drop-off programs, our Pack encourages parents, guardians, and siblings to jump right into the fun. For our youngest Scouts in Kindergarten (Lions) and 1st Grade (Tigers), an adult partner participates directly alongside their child at every meeting and outing. As Scouts grow into older ranks (2nd–5th Grade), they gain more independence, though families remain a vital part of the action—cheering at the Pinewood Derby, joining weekend campouts, and lending a hand at Pack events. We also understand that family schedules get busy; Scouts can join at any time of year and participate at a pace that works for your household.
The Cub Scout uniform helps every child feel like part of the team and serves as a wearable scrapbook of their achievements! We encourage Scouts to wear their official uniform to regular meetings, Pack nights, and special community appearances like local parades. From the simple Lion t-shirt for Kindergarteners to the classic button-down shirt for 1st–5th graders, our leaders will give you an easy checklist when you join so you know exactly what to get.
Scouting is an investment in your child's growth, and we work hard to keep it affordable for every family! Annual registration fees cover insurance, program supplies, and earned badges, while our annual Popcorn Fundraiser gives Scouts the chance to earn their own way toward campouts, Pinewood Derby, and Pack events. Because Pack 76 is completely volunteer-powered, we also ask every family to invest a little time—whether that’s helping with popcorn sales, pitching in at meetings, or stepping into a leadership role!

Cub Scouting is a family experience, and your involvement—big or small—makes a difference. Whether it’s helping set up an event, bringing snacks, or shopping for a campout, every bit helps. If you're interested in a larger role, we’re always looking for new leaders and committee members to support planning, fundraising, and welcoming new families. Just like our Scouts, we ask adults to “Do Your Best.”
In Scouting, we will not compromise the safety of our youth or volunteers.
Every Scout deserves a trained leader. All registered Adult Leaders go through a mandatory criminal background check and must complete the Safegaurding Youth Training. We encourage parents and guardians to take Safeguarding Youth Training as well, which can be taken online for free. Also, Scouting America has created A Parent's Guide to Youth Protection.
We encourage all our leaders to take additional training, online and in-person, so we can provide a fun and safe program for our Cub Scouts and their families.
Annual Health and Medical Record forms are required to be completed at least once a year by all participants in any Scouting activity. Form C only needs to be completed for events longer than 72 hours (i.e. Summer Camp) and must be filled out by a physician. This includes participating family members and siblings.
